Daniel Capuia is the principal of AngoVest Inc., a firm that facilitates strategic connections between private and public investors in various sectors, including oil and gas, agriculture, mining, energy, and more, in Angola, Africa.
Through years of participating in economic briefings, a compelling trend emerged: Investors across the Pacific Northwest and the US were eager to capitalize on the vast potential of Angola, one of Africa’s most promising emerging markets, thereby paving the war for the creation of AngoVest Inc. AngoVest Inc was an inspiration of close collaboration with the Office of Director of US Commercial Services in Portland, the former Angolan Consulate Office in Los Angeles, California, the World Oregon and the local Chamber of Commerce.
AngoVest Inc. facilitated Oregon’s first official business trip to Angola under President Joao Lourenço’s administration in December 2018. The Oregon delegation convened with relevant government and business entities in Angola, including the Minister of Business, Department Angolan American Chamber of Commerce, and other Ministries.
AngoVest Inc has organized and facilitated numerous business roundtables with entrepreneurs and investors from Angola, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe in Portland, Oregon, to explore trade opportunities and foster relationships between the state of Oregon and Angola, and has arranged visits with key leaders at Nike Headquarters, Glory Bee, Discover African Art, the Port of Portland, and local and state officials, including Oregon Governor Kate Brown, Business Oregon, and the Oregon Consular Corps.
Angola is at a pivotal juncture in its infrastructure development and growth phase, and AngoVest Inc. seeks to engage global partners and entrepreneurs to explore mutual economic benefits between the United States and Angola to meet the development and growth demand.
Daniel received his B.S. in Political Science and a minor in African Studies from Portland State University and a Master’s from Warner Pacific. He lives in Cambridge with his children and wife, Dr. Alisha Moreland-Capuia.
